I promised to write something about this drama before the special airs and guess what? the SP airs tonight. LOL

Saikou no Rikon is the drama that I had enjoyed the most throughout 2013. This is by no means a perfect drama however, it is definitely THE most entertaining drama of 2013.

Let's start with the good things, shall we?
First up are the actors mainly Eita and Ono Machiko. Words are not enough to describe their talent and chemistry. They are perfect in their roles. I shipped Mitsuo and Yuka so hard that I only wished for their genuine happiness which, is with each other. lol The supporting characters were also good two but these two are just really strong.

I can't believe it's been a month since I saw this. XD Sorry for posting late. XD

I was absolutely looking forward to see this since it was first announced because it will be reuniting one of my favorite onscreen couples, Kora Kengo and Yoshitaka Yuriko. I loved their chemistry from Hebi ni Piasu but that movie was just depressing so I got ecstatic when I found out that they'd be playing lovers again in this light-hearted story, a 180 degree turn from HnP. XD

Plot: Yokomichi Yonosuke moves to Tokyo from his hometown, Nagasaki, to study Business Administration at Hosei University and we follow him from there.

I haven't really caught up with a ton of dramas from last season's list as well as this seasons' but this drama has definitely peaked my interest.

Plot: Hashimoto Ai plays Nanba Kurumi, a math genius who is currently studying at Tokyo University. Kora Kengo plays Tomoda Tatsuhiko, a detective with a secret past. A case leads Tomoda to seek the help of a math professor but as it turns out he is not in the country. Kurumi ends up helping him instead. You can read more here at jdramas.wordpress.

The plot may not seem captivating at first but the drama is actually a very nice surprise. It's intelligent and really interesting. As expected of NHK to give out a production like this.

The first episode was divided into two scenarios. First, Kurumi's schoolmate asks her help to win a poker game in which she has been indebted to. Kurumi says she hasn't lost a poker game, precisely because she hasn't played it in her life, she still agrees to help.
Second, is the main case involving a terrorist bomber where in the prime suspect, Yuzawa, a mathematician that has been imprisoned for 15 years. Tomoda has been tasked to seek the help of Professor Morisaki at Tokyo University to solve a code to determine the details of the next bombing. The main case continues on to episode 2.

I know I'm very late in posting about dramas but this one I had to. :D

Ever since the SPEC series ended, there were just some loose ends that weren't addressed especially that of the actual beginning of the story. So I was very excited when they announced that there will be a prequel SP.

Beware of SPOILERSCollapse )

I know my post sounds like it should have been posted in tumblr but I miss posting here soo... :D

This was one of the movies that I really was looking forward to seeing from the first time I heard about it. I waited around for months to see it because I was looking for the subtitles. XD

The movie started off with a brief character introduction so I'll start my summary that way too:

Kanae is a very meticulous and serious career woman. She works at a magazine company She hasn't experienced failure before and everything she does is according to her plan, including getting married in two months to a man that she hasn't met yet (she has allotted one month to find him and one month to get to know him).

Kondo is a very professional handy man popular in the crime world. He does a very clean job in disposing his client's targets. If he does the job, the body will never be found. He does not directly deal with his clients so nobody knows what he looks like.

Sakurai is a theatre actor who hasn't had good luck in landing a stable job in the world of acting. He lives in a run down apartment complex and has bills left unpaid and very little money to spare. He has contemplated on ending his life via hanging but even in that area, he isn't lucky.

The actual story takes off from here: Sakurai having failed his suicide attempt, decides to go to a bath house after seeing a coupon in his wallet. Kondo gets stuck in a traffic jam and decides to take a bath to clean up after his job. The two meet at the bathhouse as Sakurai eyes the contents of Kondo's very thick wallet while they were placing their belongings in the locker. Sakurai heads off to the bath room first and tries to steal an old man's soap but he failed, yet again. The soap slips off the floor ending up at the entrance wherein Kondo stepped on it, slid flew, hit the floor and got knocked out. Kondo's locker key lands right next to Sakurai and he takes the opportunity to switch their keys and their identities.

Kondo wakes up at the hospital with an amnesia while Sakurai started paying all of his debts with Kondo's money. Sakurai paid a visit to Kondo at the hospital to return his belongings and switch back their identities however, he gets caught by an awake Kondo and leaves as is. As Kondo gets discharged from the hospital, he asks directions from Kanae, who was then visiting her sick father in the same hospital. Kanae gives Kondo  a ride back to Sakurai's apartment and tries to help him recover his memory. Sakurai video tapes a message to Kondo saying that he will kill himself to atone for what he has done but gets in to trouble with Yakuza boss, Kudo, when he answered a phone call.

I've been wanting to see this movie since I saw "Permanent Nobara" but I couldn't find it then so I put it aside. After seeing "Kirishima, Bukatsu Yamerutte yo", I got reminded of my interest in this movie and this time I finally found it! Yay!

Plot: Sumika (Sato Eriko), an aspiring actress who has lived in Tokyo for quite sometime, suddenly comes home after her parents tragically died. She has reunited with her step-brother, Shinji (Nagase Masatoshi) and her younger sister Kiyomi (Satsukawa Aimi). Sumika and Kiyomi's relationship was ruined when Kiyomi entered and won a manga contest by taking "inspiration" on her older sister's life. Kiyomi expresses her regret on what she did however, Sumika still holds a grudge towards Kiyomi for her misfortunes. Their elder step-brother, Shinji, who is now married to the cheerful Machiko (Nagasaku Hiromi) - whom he met though an online dating site, tries his best to pacify the two.

I saw a few movies in my lazy streak and thought that I should make a post about them to defeat laziness (lol). Here's one of them: "Soup ~Umarekawari No Monogatari~".

Plot: Namase Katsuhisa plays Shibuya Kenichi, a divorced salary-man. He gained custody of his daughter Mika, played by Kariya Yuiko, but she has been cold to him since the divorce. One day, on a business trip, Kenichi and his boss Ayase Yumi played by Konishi Manami, both got struck by lighting and died. In the afterlife, they hear about a legendary soup that can guarantee rebirth however, all of the memories in their past life will be lost. Kenichi goes on to find a way to get reborn, retain his memories and meet his daughter again.

And yes, the main reason why I made this post today is because it's Suzuka-chan's birthday! \(^o^)/

I really felt the need to flail here in lj because  reblogging stuff over at tumblr isn't enough and I feel more comfortable posting here. XD

It has been confirmed! Finally!
(I want to read their comments. I hope we get a bigger scan soon!)

To be honest, I'm not surprised Ryuu-bb was chosen. lol Since I had a feeling it will be him all along so when the news came out, my happiness was rooted from relief that finally I'm freed from thinking who will end up portraying Soujiro on screen. He was very vocal about wanting to play the role since 2011 and I'm pretty sure he'll nail it. I hope that Director Ootomo will give him a hard time in his scenes because I want him to blow everyone away and just completely slay especially since he wanted this *doS neechan*. >:))

I'm happier and more surprised with the fact that Iseya Yusuke is in this. Ever since someone suggested that he'd be the perfect Shishio he instantly became my 2nd choice for the role (I wanted Ando Masanobu then Kase Ryo as my third choice XD). When the role of Shishio was announced, I was disappointed that it went to Fujiwara Tatsuya. I really wanted Ando for the role, okay? XD Back to Iseya, he'd make an awesome Aoshi no doubt about that. I have the urge to rewatch Casshern. lol

Anyway, I hope the rest of the Juppongatana would be announced as well as Makimichi Misao. I want Ohgo Suzuka as Misao (badly) but if she's not chosen, I hope she gets Tomoe instead she'll slay either way. XD

I almost forgot Yumi-san. XD I have a few actresses in mind. Koike Eiko was my top choice next was Maki Youko then Ono Machiko. sophiapiaya suggested Kojima Hijiri would be a great choice too. I think any of these women would be perfect. I hope one of them gets Yumi-san.

Okay, that was short. XD Third post in a week! I'm progressing slowly. XD

I still have yet to finish some of the Spring 2013 dramas but here's the list of the dramas I plan to watch this summer. Actually, I already downloaded all of the available episodes but I have barely started watching. lol Going back to the list, let's start with the anticipated, shall we?

Like I previously said, it's my most anticipated drama this season. First, because of the writer. Sakamoto Yuji has been a recent favorite of mine so this is definitely a must watch for me. Second, because of the cast. Matsushima HIkari, Oguri Shun, Nikaido Fumi. Need I say more? :)

Double Tone~ Futari no Yumi~
I have read a lot of good reviews from this drama so it definitely sparked interest in me. The fact that this is on Wowow is already a must watch for me.

Hanzawa Naoki
I've heard that this is Legal High's serious sibling so instantly, I'm up for it. :D

Pan to Soup to Neko Biyori
Another Wowow drama that intrigued me because of the strong cast. I hope someone decides to do the subs.

Other dramas that I plan to watch...Collapse )
