I honestly haven't finished the Spring Dramas in my list. lol I've only managed to finished The Long Goodbye. I'm gonna try to post something about it soon. Other than that, all I did was watch films and catch up on the new Hunter x Hunter anime. (lol) But here I am sharing my Summer Watch list.
Here it goes:
☆ Wakamonotachi 2014
It just started last night and I'm currently downloading this. (lol) The drama is a remake of a 1966 film of the same title. What attracted me most here is the powerhouse cast. I never thought this gathering of such talented names would happen in a regular drama. Maybe it did before, but it has been a while since I saw a powerhouse cast such as this these days unless, I'm watching NHK or WOWOW dramas. Masami-chan, although I like her a lot, I feel that she's gonna be a weak link here. (>_<;) The writer for this drama was the one who wrote Kazoku Game last year so I have high expectations since I enjoyed his take on Kazoku Game. I hope that it doesn't disappoint.
☆ Oyaji no Senaka
This is an omnibus drama with the theme of fathers and their sons and daughters. If Wakamonotachi attracted me with its cast, Oyaji no Senaka attracted me with the scriptwriters. From Kuramoto Sou (Yasashii Jikan), Yamada Taichi (Arifureta Kiseki) & Mitani Koki (Furuhata Ninzaburo) to Sakamoto Yuji (Soredemo Ikite Yuku) & Okada Yoshikazu (Beach Boys) just to name a few. The drama also has an interesting mix of cast. Also, I'm quite close to my dad, so I know that this drama will definitely be a touching one.
I've already made a post about this before. But, it still wouldn't stop me from writing about this drama. I've been waiting a long time and it is almost here!!! (๑>ᴗ<๑) I have actually finished dl-ing the movie version that stars Tamaki Hiroshi & Aoi Yuu but for some reason, I'm scared of watching it. haha! My only worry for this drama is the script because one of them wrote the script for the drama "Gekiryuu" which received a lot of negative feedbacks. I'm hoping that having 5 episodes would save Henshin from it. *fingers and toes crossed*
I also plan on checking out Aoi Honoo because of Yagira Yuya. HE FINALLY GOT A LEAD ROLE. FINALLY.
Also, the drama is under the direction of Fukuda Yuichi who directed Yuusha Yoshihiko, which is like one of my favorite series. However, the plot doesn't seem that interesting. We'll see. And yeah, I'm not yet done with Mozu S1 so S2 isn't in my watch list yet but it should be. ^^;
Last, I want to use this space to rant for a bit. Ready? I hope I don't get to offend fans here.
Shida Mirai. WHY OH WHY IS KEN-ON DOING THIS TO YOU? She hasn't had an interesting drama for years, imo. I can't even recall the last drama that had her in it that got me hooked. 'Seigi no Mikata', I think? 'ST~' looks promising, based on the tanpatsu last year, but her role doesn't seem as challenging as lets say, 'Himitsu'. I want to see her in a role like her guesting on 'Boss'. I'm not even gonna talk about her role in Nobunaga no Chef because I dropped it after the first ep (not planning on watching the sequel either) and I found 'Naru youni Naru sa' really boring that I also dropped it after the pilot (and didn't bother with the second season). It just feels really frustrating especially since we know what she's capable of doing acting-wise. She has been labelled as Kamiki's rival before but looking at Kamiki's roles and the variety of characters that he gets to portray, I just feel really sad for Shida.
Oh, and Matsuoka Mayu. I feel disappointed that she got cast in 'GTO 2' because I feel that she's way better than the other cast members and the fact that she was already in 'Suzuki-sensei' before, which shares the same genre as GTO. I do think that it is her agency's way of giving her more exposure since GTO is still a popular series but I really feel that she's above this.
P.S. I heard that Nodame is getting a Kdrama remake...
I think that's it. lol Four dramas and a rant for the summer season. lol
